In this unparalleled work, he has created techniques transforming the shadows into the light, and pointed to one of the greatest expressions of these alchemical processes [in the work of HR Giger]. The Adventure of Self-Discovery
– Thinking Allowed Video Collection
What is the origin of individual behavior and personality? Stanislav Grof proposes that individuals have systems of condensed experience (COEX systems) which become anchored to aspects of the birth trauma. In Part I of this program, he describes four different basic stages of the birth process and shows how they relate to attitudes developed later in life. In Part II he discusses the development of his “holotropic” approach to therapy as an outgrowth of his early work with psychedelic drugs.
The Cosmic Game
– Thinking Allowed Video Collection
Dr. Stan Grof makes the case that the experience of those in altered “holotropic” states—through psychedelic drugs or through certain breathing exercises—are virtually indistinguishable from classic mystical experiences. He maintains that the worldview cultivated in such states of consciousness says much about both the depths of the human psyche and about reality itself.
